Biography

Eileen R. Meehan, PhD, Full Professor and author of Why TV Is Not Our Fault and research articles published in such journals as Critical Studies in Media and Communication, International Journal of Media and Cultural Politics, Journal of Communication, and Journal of Broadcasting and Electronic Media. With Ellen Riordan, she co-edited Sex and Money: Feminism and Political Economy in the Media and, with Janet Wasko and Mark Phillips, co-edited Dazzled by Disney?: The Global Disney Audiences Project . She has held endowed chairs at University of New Mexico and Louisiana State University. Currently a professor in the Department of Radio and Television, Meehan enjoys teaching classes on media economics, television programs as commodities and as cultural expression, research methods, and media and society.
