DEADLINE FRIDAY OCTOBER 30TH @ 3:00PM
The 7th Annual Process, Performance, Projection exhibition is now accepting submissions for Fall 2009. Traditionally a one-night show, this year’s PPP exhibition has been extended. The closing reception will be held on Friday, November 13th from 6-9pm at the Surplus Gallery.
The PPP showcases new and experimental work in alternative media from SIUC’s art community, including the School of Art and Design, Mass Communication and Media Arts, Music, Theater and Speech Communication. Faculty, graduate and undergraduate students from all departments are welcome to apply.
The Process, Performance, Projection VII exhibition is curated this year by Alex Lopez, Travis Janssen, and Mark Pease, Assistant Professors within SIUC’s School of Art and Design.

The Surplus Gallery will host the Seventh Annual Process, Performance, Projection Exhibition curated by Professors, Alex lopez, Travis Janssen and Mark Pease from School of Art and Design. The exhibition opens on November 10th and runs through November 13th with a closing reception from 6pm-9pm on November 13, 2009.
The PPP showcases new and experimental work in alternative media from SIUC’s art community, including the School of Art and Design, Mass Communication and Media Arts, Cinema and Photography, Music, Theater and Speech Communication. This year’s exhibition includes eleven artists combined of faculty, graduate and undergraduate students from various departments. In addition to this year’s exhibition, a free performance workshop by visiting artist, Roger Shimomura to be held on Tuesday, November 10th from 1pm-4pm.

Mission Statement
Emphasizing excellence, The School of Art and Design’s Surplus Gallery at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale is a progressive venue encouraging experimental ventures dedicated to the enrichment of cultural life on campus, in the community, and throughout southern Illinois. The gallery primarily serves the needs of the University community, which includes students, faculty and visiting artists.
The Surplus Gallery is located in the Studio Arts building also known as the Glove Factory on the corner of South Washington and College Street.
